Hi, I’m Annie. It just so happens that I’m an avid DIYer and “Jack of all trades” as well. I’ve been getting my hands dirty with belt sanders, table saws, power drills, and every other conceivable tool since I could stand.
When I’m not working on projects around the house, I stay busy running a successful carpentry business, so you could say I know a thing or two about belt sanders! From small and lightweight belt sanders to larger bench-mounted sanders, I’ve seen them all over the years.
That being said, I used to be a fan of orbital sanders for their versatility and the fact that they’re better for finishing. However, that all changed when I decided to turn my hobby into a business.
My very first job as a professional carpenter was a 3,800-square foot Victorian restoration. The paint, or what was left of it, was peeling off in sheets, the plaster was shot, and the wood was rotten all the way down to the frame. Now, I was working by myself back then and the client wanted it finished in three months. Inside, I was thinking, “You meant three years, right?”
Needless to say, I earned a newfound appreciation for belt sanders after that job. Armed with a quality belt sander, I was able to knockout every stripping, grinding, and sanding task in lightning speed. In fact, I was able to get the job done beautifully and ahead of schedule, prompting the client to happily refer me to everyone he knew. I guess you can say a belt sander is at least partly responsible for my success today.
Since that day, I’ve raved about belt sanders and took it upon myself to test as many models as possible in order to educate others and help them pick the best ones for them. I hope this website will do just that.
So, please feel free to browse the site, check out all of the belt sanders I’ve had the pleasure of using, and use my insight to choose the very best belt sander for your needs. Hopefully, you’ll find the right one for you and make mincemeat out of any DIY project you bite off!
